LADIE KILLERZ DONE AND DUSTED!

phew. made it. recovered and rested.

had a massive weekend in Adelaide as part of the Ladie Killerz festival. Put in a projection as part of the exhibition on Friday night, curated the film festival on the Saturday night, then rocked a funky piece on Sunday!

from what was once a giggly little pipe dream into a full blown (holy shit! better pull my finger out!) reality.. i present to you

LADIE KILLERZ



a 3 day festival of sorts, (mostly the sort of thing that involves paint and alcohol,) is about to hit adelaide. there's a bunch of stuff going on, including; a graffiti/streetart/lowbrow/tattoo exhibition at cold krush, a mini film festival at the mercury cinema programed by PJ and yours truely, and a huge graffiti production featuring 20+ female graffiti artists from around australia!!

i'm sooooo psyched about it. seriously. two of my favourite things (graffiti + projections) combined into one little tricycle of amazoid!

BILL IS BACK

i can't believe i haven't uploaded this until now.

shot back in 2005, i met bill at a model train expo where he had a stall displaying his decals "bills billboards" and sitting right next to some graffiti decals was a blackbook / photo book containing a ridiculous amount of westside panels. i asked him where he got the photos and he said he took them himself so he could make the graffiti decals. anyway, we got talking and i eventually invited myself to follow him around the brooklyn sims metal yards while he was removing some train parts. (incidentally, on that very same day i did my first dead train.) after we shot at the yards, i organised a visit to his house to film the remainder of the interview. the segment was initially produced to screen on the heavyweight hip hop tv program which appeared on channel 31 back in 2005/2006.

WEST SIDE STORIES

Just came back from the last of the February Pseudo Cinema screenings.





Thanks to all who rocked down to these! Keep an eye out for more impromptu cinema styles, but in the meantime, here's a couple of snaps..

PSEUDO CINEMA - MONDAY 22nd FEB 8pm - LAST ONE!

The third and final installment of the PSEUDO CINEMA at PER SQUARE METRE is on this coming Monday, 22nd Feb @ 8pm. Rock on down to peep some footage of graffiti stuff that you probably have not ever seen before. Screening the Molotow Masters of Art series featuring the following crews; KOC, AFP, TFH and FDP. Then screening a whole bunch of footage from the 2007 Write 4 Gold.

BROOKLYN AINT DEAD

Screened this last night (probably should have posted something up here earlier!) to an intimate crowd of graffiti writers. Makeshift screen and cinema style seating is my new forte.

Also want to say thanks to SPOTEM for all the great VHS footage and flicks! And to Leon, Dvate & Peter.J.Vincent for the photographs. Jonas is very crafty with sticky tape and Johnny is just good at stuff.
