JUNGLE TIKI CHILL SPACE -- INSTALLATION

So happy to have created such a cool care container for the party goers visiting the Jungle Juice Records stage at the Hi-Vibes "Weedy Wonkers Winter Solstice" music festival, June 2023. 

The design concept was to create a chill space to compliment the Jungle Juice theme, but with neon! I love to dangle things in people's faces and this was the perfect opportunity as punters pulled on the vines and played with the neon flowers attached to the canopy. Such a joy to see people having fun in the space! Seating was simple; a recycled plastic mat, spray painted cushions, and some faux grass covered milk crates. The space was lit with battery operated fairy lights and UV torches. The neon looked so cool at night under the UV lights!

Here are some work-in-progress shots.. most things were created from trash! One person's trash is another's treasure, so there was lots of recycling, re-using and re-purposing. The canopy was laser cut, however the vines and flowers were hand-cut. I'll definitely being using the laser cutter more often.

I'm really keen to make more of these interactive installation spaces! 👽

COFFEE CART -- COMMISSION SIGNAGE

Cute little coffee cart commission for the Noosa Flexible Learning Centre. 

Stacey (Transitions Officer) is kicking goals for our young people, and this is one of her enterprise schemes at NFLC, accompanied by barista training, and endless coffee for me!

WEAR IT PURPLE DAY -- INSTALLATION and PROJECTION

I was given the opportunity to create a chill out zone for young people at a WEAR IT PURPLE DAY celebration event. The space featured a rear-projection from inside the building, facing out into the zone, plus comfy seating, low hung ceiling decor, sectioned off with some stretchy fabrics. 

Such a lovely comfortable space for some quiet reflection. Nothing quite like staring into space..

LEWD LAUNDRY -- PERFORMANCE INSTALLATION

AIR OUT YOUR DIRTY LAUNDRY with LEMON MYRTLE and FAB LAVENDER at the LEWD LAUNDRY. festival performers cleaning out your dirty little secrets..

The Lewd Laundry, a mid-dance floor festival rambling, expanding into a fully grown festival performance art installation, featuring myself as 'fab lavender' and Amanda Murrell as 'lemon myrtle'. 

Punters and festival goers air out their dirty laundry, scribing their secrets onto freshly laundered and sustainably sourced undergarments, un-shaming and freeing themselves to make way for an optimal festival experience, and contributing towards a washing line exhibition of epic proportions.

COCKTAILS CREW in BRISNEYLAND

COCKTAILS CREW - The perfect combination of human spirit and style writing ingredients. A delicious mixture of creative women, yum drinks, big dreams and street scenes. Graffiti queens who sip cocktails and wreck nails. This is a girl gang group show with a twist."

On the weekend of May 14th - 15th, The COCKTAILS CREW descended upon Brisbane, Queensland, to show and prove by creating and exhibiting artwork for the street art audiences assembled as part of the Brisbane Street Art Festival. 

Saturday 14th May, EC Venue hosted the GIRL GANG THINGS, a mixed media group show featuring works by; BITCH, CREMA, DAISY, DANCE, JAZZY, JIPSY, JOKES, MAID, PETALS, SUP, and TOOTS. The exhibition opening night in collaboration with the Elements Collective Battle Night, showcased; a Bonnie and Clyde All-style Dance Battle, tunes by DJ Iron Icey, and Scribble Slam hosted by the Brisbane Street Arts Festival crew. The GIRL GANG THINGS artwork exhibition remains on show and is available for purchase up until Sunday 5th June 2022.

Sunday 15th May, saw the COCKTAIL CREW complete the graffiti production, located at the BSAF / SuperOrdinary warehouse wall in North Shore. Despite the torrential rain downpour, the girls managed to complete the production. A short film capturing the creative process will be released soon..
